LOCATION CONFORMITY

Compare where your data went against where you said it would go.

Precyz compares observed locations with your evidence-backed record. The result describes conformity only; no country has an inherent risk value.

Context

The situation

“Our data stays in the EU” is a sentence in a contract. Location conformity asks whether the sentence is true this week. Answering it usually means correlating vendor documentation, cloud regions, and network logs by hand, and the answer expires.

You record the locations you expect, with the evidence behind each one. Precyz compares the countries it observed, and on Pro and above the countries in the connection path, against that record. The comparison is deterministic: the same inputs produce the same label, every time.

What you get from this

Expected · Low location risk

Observed locations conform to your evidence-backed record.

Review · Medium location risk

Partial or ageing evidence, or a conforming destination reached over a non-conforming path.

Unexpected · High location risk

An observed location your record does not cover. This is not a verdict about harm.

Unrated

No evidence exists yet. Unrated is shown as itself, never rounded down to fine.

Collection boundary

The boundary

We observe here

Destination country, the country sequence of the path on Pro and above, the network operator, and the registrable domain — compared against locations you entered yourself.

We never collect here

Any reputation, categorisation, or intelligence about a country, an operator, or a domain. Precyz holds no list of good or bad countries, and no country carries an inherent risk value.

Coverage is not complete. Some traffic paths are not observable from the interfaces we use, and geolocation is advisory rather than authoritative.

This is not a verdict. Unexpected · High location risk means an observed location is outside the record you gave us. It does not mean the traffic was harmful or the destination was untrustworthy. Precyz never assigns a country a risk value and never acts on a finding.

Questions this page raises

Can I use this to prove compliance?

It produces evidence about observed destinations. It does not produce a compliance opinion, and we will not sell it as one.

What if I have no expected-location record yet?

Everything is Unrated and says so. Unrated is never displayed as a pass.
